#thiscovermakesnosense So many questions. Is he supposed to be staring at her face? Because it looks like he's ogling her cleavage. She looks like she's about to fall asleep. Does she not care that she's being ogled? If it's cold enough to have a fire going, why is she in a summer dress with flimsy sleeves? Or is that an evening gown? If so, why is she lying around in it? Is he going to smother her with that pillow? #readjanuary Day 20 catch-up

Pickpick

Despite the unfortunate cover art, I enjoyed this book a lot. The next installment in the Morland family books, covering the years of the American revolution (from the English perspective) and ending with the Morlands receiving the news of the storming of the Bastille. I love this series. It is very readable, and enjoyable for the focus on the lives of ordinary country gentry, not nobles. Looking forward to book 10!

Book 9 in the Morland Dynasty series, set in England around the time of the American Revolution. It's different seeing the Hallowed Events of Our Glorious Revolution through English eyes. It looks like one of the characters may marry into a Maryland family, circa 1774-75. If that happens, it will be interesting.

Also sharing the hilariously dreadful cover on my edition, in which the man appears to be pondering his lady's breasts.
