Anne Williams never gave up on her quest for truth and justice for her son. A truly remarkable woman.

Anne Williams pictured her on the day the Hillsborough Independent Panel published their report and revealed the truth about what happened at Hillsborough. It was a better day when the new inquests ruled the victims had been unlawfully killed and Liverpool fans were in no way to blame; it was an even better day when the CPS ruled that those responsible will be prosecuted. Justice is coming.

“I knew what they were doing. They were trying to wear me down. But I just thought I‘ll wear you down before you get to me. I was never going to give in.”
Last year, thanks to the determination of campaigners like Anne Williams, the deaths of the 96 Hillsborough victims were finally recognised as unlawful killing, and Liverpool fans were exonerated of any blame.

Anne Williams lost her son, Kevin, at the Hillsborough disaster in 1989.She refused to accept the verdict of accidental death & spent years investigating what happened to Kevin, doing the job that the coroner should have done. She sadly died shortly after the inquest verdict was quashed,& never saw justice delivered at the new inquests this year, which ruled that Kevin & the 95 other victims were unlawfully killed.
