From the author of Water for Elephants comes the story of a family of bonobo apes that is violently torn from their laboratory by animal liberation activists and placed on a TV reality show. Like Gruen's phenomenal bestseller Water for Elephants, this novel explores humans' relationships with animals and shows that animals have much to teach people about what it means to be human.

Book 12/25 complete!! This book is like Mighty Joe Young but the adult version. I really enjoyed this book. Although it had a lot going on it was easy to follow and a super interesting read. I highly recommend this book and can not wait to read the other two I have by this author. 🦍

Finally read this book that has been on my shelf forever. It starts off interesting! Then it becomes a zany story with underdeveloped characters and an absurd plot. Just no.

Reviewsbylola I didn't hear very good things about this one but I loved Water for Elephants. 7y

#animallove #17booklove Interesting novel about captive apes (and why they shouldn't be captive), which inspired a bit of extra reading on a fascinating subject.

andrew61 I really enjoyed water for elephants so will look it up- probably go well with 'we are all completely......' 8y
