Loving; Living; Party Going (Revised) | John Updike, Henry Green
2 posts | 2 read | 4 to read
Henry Green explored class distinctions through the medium of love. This volume brings together three of his novels contrasting the lives of servants and masters ("Loving"); workers and owners, set in a Birmingham iron foundry ("Living"); and the different lives of the wealthy and the ordinary, ("Party Going"). For more than seventy years, Penguin has been the leading publisher of classic literature in the English-speaking world. With more than 1,700 titles, Penguin Classics represents a global bookshelf of the best works throughout history and across genres and disciplines. Readers trust the series to provide authoritative texts enhanced by introductions and notes by distinguished scholars and contemporary authors, as well as up-to-date translations by award-winning translators.

The Luminaries by Eleanor Catton
As You Like It, Shakespeare
Spiderlight by Adrian Tchaikovsky
Penguin Book of Twentieth Century Speeches
Martin Dressler by Steven Millhauser

Three books by a man with a great imagination. I would never have thought it would be possible to write a book about the subjects he does. Nice! #1001books
