June's reading! I thought all of these were great, especially this tough and forgiving memoir of growing up in Maine.

I'm a sucker for memoirs lately and this one tells the story of growing up the youngest of 9 children, poor in rural Maine. Trigger warning for sexual abuse and miscarriage. This is an author to watch.

LiteraryinPA Good to know. I haven't heard of this author so I'll keep her on my radar! 8y
ReadingEnvy @LiteraryinLititz the bio at the end said she was a finalist for the Annie Dillard creative nonfiction award... I love Annie but didn't know of that award, so possibly another thing to watch for! 8y

"Being the youngest of nine, I knew what it felt like to have people look at you like you were less than human."
