I would use this book to teach my students about the weather
It seems that no one was taking the boy seriously when he was saying that the snow will melt. Then, the snowflakes kept coming and the townspeople were ignoring/not believing it.
Snow by Uri Shulevitz was published in 1998 and was awarded The Caldecott Honor Award in 1999. This picture book is about a boy and a dog who are intrigued by the snow falling from the sky. The boy is excited about what is happening and everyone around him is telling him it‘s going to melt. Before he knows it the town is cover in snow and it doesn‘t seem so gray anymore.
“But snowflakes don't listen to the radio, snowflakes don't watch television. All snowflakes know is snow, snow, and snow.“
This book is a great read about not listening to what others have to say. If something brings you happiness, do not let others bring you down.
The book “Snow“ was published in 1998 by Uri Shulevitz. This story takes place in a city that is entirely gray. Then, snowflakes start falling one by one. The boy and his dog are excited to see the snow. However, other characters try to dismiss the snow by saying things like “it will melt“ or “it's only one snowflake.“ By the end of the story, the entire city is covered in beautiful, white snow.
This RF, IR or RA Caldecott Honor book is a simple read about a boy seeing snowflake after snowflake, and eventually the whole town is covered in snow. With its simple and redundant language, this book would be great for beginning readers or ELL students. This book could be used to introduce a science lesson about whether and snow.

Snow by Uri Shulevitz excellent Fantasy Picture book, can be used fo reading AIP. Can be use to teach counting, spelling, and vocabulary. The theme of the book: greatness can come from something small. In this story with beautiful illustrations, a child celebrates the fall of snow in the city, and he counts each snowflake. Even though others think that a little snow is meaningless, he believes that it will become something spectacular.
Cute story with simple words for children to read and learn about the excitement of snow.
Traditional literature, Caldecott honor book, 1998. A boy and his dog are excited about the snow slowly falling but everyone else dismisses the snow. Fun tale that shows the excitement of a young boy and his dog. Shows how nothing controls Mother Nature, not people or TVs or radios.
This picture makes me laugh because these are all the people that told the child he was wrong and that there would be no snow. Jokes on them!
Published in 1998 and awarded the Caldecott in 1999, Snow is a story in which the lines and value really add emphasis on the setting. Content wise, I feel as if the occasional rhyme scheme would pull a reader in, but I also feel like the story didn‘t have a complete purpose. I enjoyed the illustrations very much, but struggled to find a deeper meaning. Maybe there isn‘t meant to be one!
Snow is a PF , great for RA during fall .This Caldecott Honor is also 1998 New York Times Outstanding book of the year. It is about a boy who sees snow flakes and get excited that it is snowing but no one believes him. Pictures provide a great detail about the weather. https://www.teacherspayteachers.com/Product/SNOW-by-Uri-Shulevitz-41-pgs-Common-... UDL strategies 3.1 & 3.4 along with EL strategies 1 & 4 will work better.
This is one of my favorite non Christmas books. I so love snow. Well, I love looking at snow, reading about snow, and singing about snow. This book reminds me of being in Germany in 2012... The snow flurries that were there, and turned into more. The illustrations are so festive and playful. It made my heart sing. Sean said it was ok.
