Seriously though, this book has a lot of moving pieces handled deftly by a first time author. If you enjoy Mark Greaney's Grey Man series or similar “dad thrillers“ this would be a great addition to your TBR list!

pickPike Logan is a top-Secret operative who has spent far too much time away from his family. When they are brutally murdered while he is off on a mission, he loses it. Eventually, he leaves the Taskforce and becomes an aimless drifter, drowning his sorrows in a bottle. After saving Jennifer from a pair of thugs, he has a spark of a purpose. He follows her to Mexico to try to locate her uncle and gets way more than he bargained for. Worth a read.
