It's been a good week-even though I haven't done any baking this week.

Today's #CoverLove!
I don't know if I got to this one in the series-I kinda bailed after a while. Don't know why, I seem to remember enjoying them. 🤷♀️

I was expecting truck driver killers and their victims.
Instead, I got a deep dive into trucker culture, trafficking victims, and a week-long ride-along with one of the good guy truckers.
This book should definitely come with trigger warnings. It is dark and almost depressing, not surprising considering the dark and depressing topic.
Interested in the FBI's highway task force, trucking, or sex trafficking? Then go for this book.
I wanna get to this this fall/winter or beginning of next year.

Snake handling in Appalachia-I definitely need to bump this to the top and read!

Candle lit, ASMR on the TV, and my slim book of poetry by bell hooks is ready to go!
I'm already relaxed, it's been a peaceful evening and now it'll be a zen hour before I head off to bed.

Read this a couple of years ago and has been thinking of this book. May be time for a reread!

Been a quiet week, albeit a rough ending to the work week last night. Grateful for my employers-they are amazing!

I thought this would be a breezy but eye-opening read but it's deep. We'll see how the rest of the book plays out before passing judgement.

This kids book featuring spending the summer on top of their building-a tar beach-was cute.

I have this book at home from the library to read first of August.

Whoa! Meg Gardiner does it again! Love the series-Unsub books-and this was a trippy ride!
#SeriesLove for this one-if you like mysteries and thrillers, check out the Unsub series!

It's been a hot summer here in Oklahoma! So today's #TuesdayTunes is one that's been in my head the past couple of days!

This orange covered book was a lot of fun! I hadn't heard of some of the women who rock! Was definitely a great, quick afternoon read that has you checking artist's works in Spotify!

The Mandie books were for young girls and were written by a Christian author.
I inhaled these books as a kid!

I remember inhaling this when it came out...movie was okay and I actually prefer the movie ending to the book ending.

I thought it had been an uneventful week, but when I look back there was things to celebrate. So glad I looked back and came up with five things to be happy about!
Now I am just waiting on my sister to come over and install my bed frame! So blessed to have a sister we've nicknamed “Muscles“!

So our books at the library check out via RFID tag. RFID tag allows you to stack books/DVDs/CDs/etc on the shelf check and it'll read all the tags.
Unless the cover is metallic.
Got real good at spotting these and manually checking them in when this was super popular.
Also, the movies-original is so, so much better than the remakes.

I have five books in this series and tried book one this winter. Could not do it-30% in and I was done. Still have them at home waiting on me to take to the second hand shop.
Different books for different folks.

One well-worn boot on the cover of “Wild“. Still need to read this...so many books so little time!

Fun story-I couldn't read this...just couldn't. But I did love “The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time“.
My boss at the time was the exact opposite and couldn't get into “Dog“ for the same reason I couldn't get into “Rosie“.
It takes all readers!

More sepia than brown, but at least the author's last name is Brown 😂

I was tagged last week in #5JoysFriday and forgot to put up my list. So I tried again this week and remembered to post my list.
It's been a good week! The best thing that happened is that I live in an apartment and set my trash outside my door. Someone grabbed it and put it in the dumpster! Score! Thank you, anonymous!
@DebInHawaii
Just getting into this but I love the UNSUB series!

It's Christmas in July!
The first two categories are Christmas-which works cause I love Christmas! These two Christmas titles are Kindle Unlimited and I would like to get them sent back.
LA Noire is one I had earlier this year for #ReadYourKindle but never finished. So here we go!
Wolf Signs is a romance novel picked at random.
Thanks @CBee!
Day 3 of #CoverLove is dots. Well, this is one big dot, but it works, right?
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @eggs
Today's #CoverLove is a black cover.
If you like noir and/or graphic novels that are trippy, give this one a try!
@Alwaysbeenaloverofbooks @eggs
And @TheAromaOfBooks has picked for July!
New Release-I've got at least two, if not a third one, headed to me sooner or later from the library.
Library book-I've got several checked out so this will be easy!
Thanks for the #BookSpin!
My #ReadYourKindle selections for July. I took the names of the folders in my Kindle, shuffled them, and made a list. KU is Kindle unlimited. @CBee
I have decided to join #CoverLove!
Today's prompt is red and this is the first book I thought of...my niece bought me a copy to have for my birthday and I reread it during the winter.
@AlwaysBeenALoverOfBooks @Eggs
I've got “Southernmost“ pulled (but unread) for last month. I'm really intrigued with “Gangster Squad“ but it's a 500 page book.
So paperback for the win! I'll get pulled Chevy Stevens' “Never Knowing“ and try to read that this month (or sometime before Jan 1!).
#Roll100
@PuddleJumper
I'm reading “Conflict Resolution...“ but only have a pages to go. So I'm counting this as done!
I'm about 75% through “Oracle“ and hope to finish at work this afternoon.
Then it's on to my next read+the Libby hold that just became available.
#WeeklyForecast #BookReport
I don't know how young I was when I read this but when one of the bingo squares for library SRP bingo was “Reread a childhood favorite“ I knew this was the one.
Man, reading this with adult eyes-this book still gutted me. I was sitting at lunch telling myself don't cry. I really resonate with this story-change the details but the ugly duckling sister was me growing up.
I just...this book, man...I have to get a copy for my shelves.
Coming up on three weeks post surgery and last week before I go back to work. This is my plan for the day.
I finished two books this week-“Exvangelicals“ was something I spent almost a month on. I really had to take my time as this is how I was raised and am now deconstructing my faith.
“Broken Gun“ was for a perpetual challenge-read all the L'Amour.
I'm 49% of the way through “Oracle“ and that's my #ReadYourKindle selection for the month.
Next up is “First Frost“. Was going to start this yesterday but plans change.
#WeeklyForecast #BookReport
Buckethead is a genius but odd sort of fellow. Maybe that's why I like what little I've delved into his works.
This one, Witches on the Heath, is amazing! So far, this is my favorite, but I haven't delved too deep into his works.
It pulls at the heartstrings and makes me feel melancholy. So amazing!

For my libraries Summer Reading Program, there's a bingo sheet. One of the squares was to read a graphic novel.
I went searching my TBR for a shorter graphic novel that I could read on my day off.
I have no idea what I've read-this is like a fever dream. However, it was compelling even it I had to frequently put it down to absorb the text.
Not sure I would recommend this unless you like noir graphic novels.
Today's odd reading trio: noir thriller graphic novel, nonfiction about the evangelical church, and Richard Scarry kids book. Such an odd combo!
Spent this morning with coffee, books, and a bagel. It was a wonderful morning ❤️ tagged is my fave.
