#TBRtemptation post! The professor dispels the myth that we work for a great paycheck--despite being taught & told that our whole lives. He explains how paying more doesn't lead to better work, & why society's consequently confused & unhappy. He shows how the root of good work is rarely incentivized, it comes from something different. He takes us through hospitals, factories, & board rooms. A short, brilliant piece. #blameLitsy #blameMrBook 😎
CocoReads As the administrative assistant for a church, I can certainly vouch for the fact I don't work for a great paycheck. On one hand, money's nice and it would be great not to worry about it. On the other hand, it's not all about money.... 8y
MyNamesParadise As my therapist says "getting a paycheck does not equate to having a purpose in life". Still trying to find my purpose... 8y
I-read-and-eat I love to work! I don't always love to go and I don't always love everything about it. But I love working. The paycheck is nice, obviously. But it makes me feel useful, spending time with collegues is great and my job is awesome. For me it was never just about money. @MyNamesParadise I personally equate my purpose with being a good person and loving my friends and family. 😊 8y
