At the thrift store this week I found and bought 3 books that had “Europa editions” on the front. The three books were this one, The elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery and My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante. Are you all familiar with any other books with the “Europa editions” on it?

Lacythebookworm Yes! Europa is one of my favorite publishers! 7y
cathysaid Yes! I ❤️ Europa editions. And you picked up some good ones. Elegance was the first Europa I read and I was hooked. Ferrante is excellent; you got the first of an excellent four part series. Many Europa editions are translations, so they are books to which I would otherwise not be exposed. 7y
BookaholicNatty @cathysaid I had no idea!!!!! Thank you for sharing that with me!!! Did you have any others that you really like by Europa? 7y

ephemeralwaltz Gorgeous! Would you share some recommendations @Lacythebookworm and @cathysaid ? 😍😍 7y
cathysaid @BookaholicNatty @ephemeralwaltz Anything by Jane Gardam, particularly the Old Filth trilogy 7y
LeafingThroughLife I love Europas! They‘re beautiful books and they tend to really make me *think.* You picked some good ones. If you‘re looking for others, I‘ve enjoyed Alina Bronsky‘s The Hottest Dishes of the Tartar Cuisine (even more than Broken Glass Park!) and Jane Gardam‘s Old Filth. Enjoy! 😀 7y
cathysaid @BookaholicNatty @ephemeralwaltz All the Elena Ferrante ❤️ and Michele Zacheim 7y
ephemeralwaltz @cathysaid THANK YOU 😍 7y
cathysaid @LeafingThroughLife Loved the Old Filth trilogy! 7y
ValerieAndBooks I love Europa editons and try to keep an eye open for them at used and new bookstores! The spines look good when grouped together 😊 but most importantly their content are 👍. Ferrante is a great place to start! 7y
ValerieAndBooks I recently read and liked the short story collection 7y

Littens, did we know about this? Happy #womenintranslation month, which means an opportunity to shout out my favorite translation publisher, #EuropaEditions. In addition to Bronsky in translation, also pictured here is a book translated by a woman, none other than Jhumpa Lahiri. #WITmonth

Visited a great used bookstore in Long Beach, California called Gatsby Books. So excited to find a hardback edition of Brooklyn
