Rereading my issues of lucky peach. Miss this magazine a lot.
Sometimes you've gotta eat a white Kit Kat Chunky while you read about obsessive citrus collectors.
So far, this plant-focused issue is exactly what I need for my current round of research. Yay!
I've been exhausted and unable to concentrate all day, but I'm committed to a small outdoor writing & research session.
It'll probably involve more research than writing because I can't do words good right now.
Partial #bookhaul from a day spent book shopping with my little sister. The Handmaid's Tale has always been one of my favourite books, but I lent my copy out and it was never returned, so I thought I'd treat myself. The magazine is the last issue of Chelsea's favourite, and a coming home gift for her. ❤️☺️
Discovered "Lucky Peach" food writing journal during Thursday night's insomnia session. I was like this is hip??? But then realized it shut down in April. Womp. So I bought 4 back issues online before they all go out of stock: the gender issue, the apocalypse issue, the plant kingdom issue, and the pho issue. Foooood. Writinggggg. Hopefully food historyyyy. Yay.
From an article by Mario Batali in Lucky Peach Issue 3. He's talking about cooking, but this speaks to me about crafting in general.
