I am participating in Dressember and wanted to read this book alongside my month of dresses and fundraising. I would encourage everyone to read The Locust Effect. Our eyes need to be opened to the reality of human trafficking and slavery in the world today. I have finished this book overwhelmed and hopeful. I will be passing this information along to as many people as I can.

I was astounded when I read yesterday how really #vulnerable widows are in developing countries. Recent studies have shown that there are more than 115 million widows living in extreme poverty around the world. #noteworthynovember

Dressember is a couple of weeks away so I wanted to read this before it started. I am only 50 pages in and I am grieved by what I am reading. I am also inspired to raise awareness. Check out dressember.org for more information on how you can join me in fighting human trafficking and slavery.

Here is my #NovemberTBR stack, not including my audiobooks. I am planning on finishing Words of Radiance and Oathbringer by Brandon Sanderson on audiobook too. #noteworthynovember #photochallengenewbie

"In this era, we must with equal courage confront the way our failure to provide basic law enforcement for the poor has not only undermined their struggle to escape poverty, but has left some of the most basic promises of the human rights revolution bitterly unfulfilled."
