This is a great audiobook version of A Christmas Carol. I adore Tim Curry!
I just love Eugene Peterson!
I‘ve started Thunderhead while waiting to put my son‘s basketball practice clothes in the dryer. Why do they never remember until 10 pm that they need all they things washed? I am giving him grace this time but next time he is going to just have to figure it out. Also, I love the book so far ❤️
I got an Amazon gift card for speaking to a local nursing class about my Crohns disease. I, of course, spent it on a book. I have shoved another book aside and moved this one to the front!
The book I am reading for #LMPBC is one that I picked up used. It is in great condition so I didn‘t really flip through it before buying it. Turns out the previous owner wrote in it! We get to see another person‘s thoughts about the book. Anyway, I am loving the book and just had to share the treasure of someone else‘s notes 😊
It is my goal to read everything Henri J.M. Nouwen has ever wrote. This is #3 of many. My favorite take away is this, “Christian leaders cannot simply be persons who have well-informed opinions about the burning issues of our time. Their leadership must be rooted in the permanent, intimate relationship with the incarnate Word, Jesus, and they need to find there the source for their words, advice, and guidance.”
My pastor is cleaning out his library again. I have had this book on my list since he mentioned it a few years ago in a sermon. I love his extensive notes at the beginning of the book!
My 65 year old neighbor asked if we could read this together and then discuss. It has lead to some interesting discussions and we haven‘t even made it to chapter 5 yet! I am not sure that this book is for everyone but I have appreciated the talks and time spent with my neighbor/friend ❤️
This is my first time signing up and I am so excited! There are plenty of openings left. Anyone want to join me in the Western/Frontier category?
Okay, I took a few months off but I am jumping back into the Wheel of Time series.
I‘ve been reading a lot if intense books and need a break. I can‘t wait to read this series. Rick Riordan writes such fun books!
There was a lot in this book that resonated with me. I struggled a bit with chapter 7, A Muscular Jesus. I am not sure I can put into words yet why. I am going to sit with it a few days and read it again.
I‘ve been too caught up in the news and on Twitter today. I felt overwhelmed. I decided to start this book and have a big cup of tea. It was just what I needed. I am only through the prologue and it is a joy ❤️
I really liked this cookbook and plan on trying as many recipes as possible. I borrowed it from the library but I going to buy it. I think I will use it often.
If I hadn‘t promised my friend to read this book I would totally bail. I am 60 pages in and annoyed. First, the author seems rather arrogant. Second, he keeps attributing difficult things in his life to an evil force 🙄
