The Churn
The Churn | James S. A. Corey
4 posts | 27 read | 12 to read
Before his trip to the stars, before the Rocinante, Amos Burton was confined to a Baltimore where crime paid you or killed you. Unless the authorities got to you first. Set in the hard-scrabble solar system of Leviathan Wakes, Caliban's War, Abaddon's Gate and the upcoming Cibola Burn, The Churn expands the world of James S. A. Corey's acclaimed Expanse series.

This tells Amos' backstory when he was known as Timmy in Baltimore. It's well-written and very dark in parts, well, most of the novella.

Nice little gem if you‘re a fan of the series! It‘s hard to give up my addiction to this brand of science fiction!

After reading Nemesis Games, I discovered that this novella focuses on Amos' background. Well worth the read for fans of The Expanse. Definitely puts certain relationships and events in Nemesis Games into more context.

Mehso-so

So-so *only* because I didn't enjoy the narrator. This story delves into Amos' beginnings. Any fan of #theexpanse and Amos should read (don't recommend the audio). #scifi #audiobook
