“She wagged her tail and smiled at us”
I love the way the poetry is in the shape of what is being discussed in the book. It really adds to the sensory effect and connects the reader to the book.

This poem is very simplistic and creates really detailed sensory images. It‘s easy to connect with each page of the story and understand the concept with the way the poetry is presented.
Such a fun poem book- all about dogs. All the poems are written in a fun, cool way and a cool lesson would be to have the kids write a poem that way too
Publication Date: 2011
Intended for: Children
Proper Illustrations: Yes! So cute!
Character dev: no, no need
Storyline: dog poems
The illustrations were not very conventional which made it challenging, yet fun to read!
This book of poems is fun and creative. At times, it can be a little difficult to read due to the unique nature of the layout. The colors are bright and beautiful, but this ultimately makes it difficult to read and requires direct attention. The words are creative and flow very easily (especially when reading out loud - they allow for a very “sing song”-y feel).
I really like the pictures and the way the poetry is written into them.
A Dazzling Display of Dogs is a poetry book about dogs. I think this book will create an interest in poetry for children because it is about dogs.
“It‘s almost impossible not to hug and say something silly to Frank the pug”

This is a fun book that I would read to children at any time. It shows different types of dogs and how each of them are different in a fun and interesting way.
Genre: Poetry
I love dogs so reading this book was very enjoyable. I loved the way that the author / illustrator displayed the words in a abstract way that sort of “merged in” with the pictures.
4⭐️ This book is absolutely gorgeous. At times it can be hard to read. The poems are not laid out stanza by stanza but formed around, through, and with each illustration. This at times can make it hard to decide in which direction to read.

This book is insanely cute. I checked it out from the library but I might need to buy myself a copy. I'm pretty sure this poem was actually written for my dog Robin. His daycare just told me today that he's the most fashionable dog because I always dress him in jackets and sweaters to keep him warm. Gotta keep him looking cute. 😂
