The Bachelor meets Pride & Prejudice!
I love holiday romances so much, and this one checked all those boxes. Chase and Mimi‘s relationship isn‘t perfect, and their forced proximity allows them to confront their true feelings for each other. While I didn‘t love Chase‘s gruffness at first, as the snow and his icy attitude started to melt, I totally saw what made him so charming to Mimi in the first place.
A fun & creepy historical romance thriller!
I screamed when I saw this page. Oh my god, this adorable book has so many emotions. I think I could look at Jen Wang‘s art forever, and the story she created to go with this beautiful art was just as beautiful.
Loved loved loved this book!!! It was awesome learning about the Hindu pantheons and Aru Shah was the messy, funny, and brave hero we deserve. Can‘t wait for the next book.
This was the cutest and sweetest thing I‘ve ever read. Also I balled my eyes out. 😭😍😭😍
Oh goodness, I‘m all heart eyes emoji and I just started this book.
Wow wow wow! I had been looking forward to The Belles for over a year, and not only did the story not disappoint, but it actually blew my expectations out the window.
I have problems getting into short story collections but this is one of the best collections I‘ve read. It‘s weird and slightly magic and definitely creepy at times.
Oh man, I really wanted to like this more. I liked the diversity and Desi‘s relationship with her dad was so sweet, but I don‘t think her character grew as much as I had hoped. I think I wanted more focus on her grieving her mom‘s death that loomed over the story.
This book is trippy.
Fantasy ✔️
Steamy romance ✔️
Beauty and the Beast retelling ✔️
Potential love triangle ✔️
I can‘t wait to read the next book!
Woo girl, this collection is even better than the first. Deeply personal, yet entirely relatable and relevant. All women should read this book so we can all feel a little less alone in this world.
I loved that this was highly relatable and accessible, unlike a lot of poetry. It speaks to young women and I really wish I had something like this when I was in my teens.
When I should be doing homework but I can‘t stop reading this book. 🖤
I experienced a lot of feelings while reading this. I hate being stuck in the darkest timeline.
This paragraph! I‘ve had this same conversation with so many people.
I am my body. ❤️
Jfc this is in chapter one. It‘s gonna be a good read.
My first Harlequin romance and now I understand the hype. Funny, sexy, and it still had a lot of heart.
I forgot how sad this book is. And the ending really leaves things up in the air. But I really enjoyed the audiobook version. It sucked me in right away.
Re-reading this for school. I‘m actually enjoying the audiobook more than I expected to.
Well I started to tear up just during the introduction so this is gonna be a tough read.
This might be the best children‘s book I‘ve read all year. I totally cried and I could see this becoming a yearly Christmas re-read.
Rereading this for school. It‘s perfect for fall. 🍂
This book is not only an important story, it‘s beautifully written and had me hooked from page one. Everyone should read it immediately.
I read this many moons ago but needed to read it again for class this week. Magical as always.
Re-reading all the Dan Brown books so I can read Origin!
Honestly, this book is exceeding my expectations.
Finished this while the airplane took off this morning. I'm dead from laugh and relating to this too much. Samantha Irby is love and I always appreciate a good poop story. 😂
Woo boy this is hitting close to home. 😢
This was so much fun. Like a new Sailor Moon! I love the diverse cast and that it there are LGBTQ+ characters. Magical girl gangs saving the world forever!
I AM DYING! This might be the funniest book I've read all year.
I have mixed feelings about this book. The mystery/thriller had lots of good twists which helped keep the story interesting. There were surprises all the way to the end. Beside that the female characters were not written very well, the misogynistic and fat jokes were annoying, and the gore was often used for shock value. I hope the next book is just a bit more thoughtful and doesn't go for the lazy joke.
This series is fantastic and honestly taught me more about the Civil Rights movement than my U.S. History class in high school. It was hard to read this at times especially after the protests in Charlottesville, but that's also why it's so important to read this book. In 2017 we're still fighting the same battles that John Lewis was fighting over 50 years ago. 😕
I'm surprised I guessed so many of the mysteries in this book before the end. 🤷🏻♀️
There's so much happening in this story but I'm enjoying all the twists and turns.
Seemed like a good time to read this after the horrific events from this past weekend.
Such a great book. I haven't read a ton of YA about Muslim American teens, but this was a great introduction. There's definitely a trigger warning for sexual assault, and while it's not super graphic, it does play a role in the central narrative.
This is a great book that is part memoir, part advice. Alyssa has great stories of working with Obama and hilarious stories about battling IBS at the Vatican. But the story about her cat is the one that brought me to tears. This is also a good book to listen to when you need to remember better times in our country.
Loving this diverse YA. The teens actually sound like teens which is always refreshing.
This was really good! Not at all what I expected, and the story really grips you until the end. No insta-love like in a lot of YA. You really get to develop the friendship between Ari & Dante over a year, and go through all their ups and downs. Definitely felt closer to a real love story.
I'll never look at Fruit Roll-Ups the same way again. 😝
This audiobook kind of blew me away. Relationships, depression, immigrant stories, and science all wrapped in to one painfully real story.
Hoping to finish this audiobook in the next few days. It's much cuter than I expected.
Holy moly! This book was such a great combination of science fiction and raw emotion. I can absolutely understand why the film rights were snagged so quickly.
