A Natural History of Love
A Natural History of Love: Author of the National Bestseller A Natural History of the Senses | Diane Ackerman
4 posts | 2 read | 2 to read
The bestselling author of A Natural History of the Senses now explores the allure of adultery, the appeal of aphrodisiacs, and the cult of the kiss. Enchantingly written and stunningly informed, this "audaciously brilliant romp through the world of romantic love" (Washington Post Book World) is the next best thing to love itself. From the Trade Paperback edition.

Love is ancient delirium, a desire older than civilization, with taproots stretching deep into dark and mysterious days.

Looking for #lovetitles in all the wrong places? My partner had three of these four books (my book is the one by the crazy poet and father of surrealism, Andre Breton). #fiestyfeb

vivastory I ♥ Andre Breton 8y
Hobbinol @vivastory Great to know that. I was beginning to think I was the only one. I think his ideas are by far more influential than he is given credit for (outside France). 8y
vivastory @hobbinol Honestly, I think all modern art (from poetry to film) would be drastically different without Breton & the Surrealists. For me they were the greatest & most important artistic movement of the 20th century. 8y
Hobbinol @vivastory Exactly! Well said!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 8y
