When I taught POV to my freshmen students, I used these two renditions of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.“ One, the incomparable Judy Garland singing it as a 16-year-old with all the promise of a life ahead. Second, the haunting Eva Cassidy, singing longingly of a long life she'll never have (she died at 33 from cancer). If you've never heard her version, you should.
