Now the subject of a new film directed by Pablo Larrain, "Jackie", starring Natalie Portman Acclaimed biographer Sarah Bradford explores the life of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, the woman who has captivated the public for more than five decades, in a definitive portrait that is both sympathetic and frank. With an extraordinary range of candid interviewsmany with people who have never spoken in such depth on record beforeBradford offers new insights into the woman behind the public persona. She creates a coherent picture out of Jackies tumultuous and cosmopolitan lifefrom the aristocratic milieu of Newport and East Hampton to the Greek isles, from political Washington to New Yorks publishing community. She probes Jackies privileged upbringing, her highly public marriages, and her roles as mother and respected editor, and includes rare photos from private collections to create the most complete account yet written of this legendary life. Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis's life is once again the center of interest with the 2016 release of the Pablo Larrain movie "Jackie", starring Natalie Portman.

She may be more of a tragedy icon than an #americassweetheart but is also remembered for her lifelong contributions to the arts and preservation of historic architecture. As well as for her style, elegance, and grace - a fashion icon. Amidst scandals and all, she still enthrals the world.

Pickpick

"She was a mystery to herself as much as anyone." What a life she led! So spoiled, entitled, and manipulative, Jackie O led a fascinating, tragic life. I think the only people she truly loved were her children, all others played parts in her life yet at the end of the book I was saddened that with her died a legend and end of an era.

Just two chapters in, and it's already an eye opening read. As a history major/teacher I know much about JFK & apparently nothing about Jackie. I might as well learn since I'm not teaching for awhile.

A guest came in today reading this book. She highly recommended it! She also recommended signing up for www.bookbub.com to get free and inexpensive ebooks for your Kindle or Nook. I told her about Litsy while she let me take a picture of her book. 😁
