I want to be serious a moment. As someone who, as a teenager, went through this I want you all to know that you're not alone, and things get better. I have learned a lot about myself since then, especially since becoming a mum and having the mental health of 2 boys to now consider. Please seek help if you need it.

Kalalalatja 👏👏👏 we need more awareness! 7y
laurieluna @Kalalalatja we do. The pressure on young people these days on social media is terrible. Especially for young girls. I got facebook when I was 16 and I think it has a lot to answer for. It stopped being a way to just communicate a long time ago and I'm glad I got rid of it. Everyone is perfect just how they are. It took me a while to see that when I hurt and hated myself, I also hurt my parents because they made me. ❤ 7y
Kalalalatja I agree, the pressure social media puts on young people is awful. It is so important we show that everyone is perfect and is worth something. And I'm so sorry, you had to go through what you went through. ❤️ 7y

laurieluna @Kalalalatja Thanks. I talk about it so that others know they can overcome it with the right support. I came out of it much stronger, and the charity Mind also helped a lot with counselling sessions. The tagged book was in aid of them, and I raised over £600 for them selling some of my old things. We need to support charities like that if they're going to be able to tackle the mental health epidemic we seem to be going through. 7y
AmyG My daughter is a school counselor K-8 and she tells me all the time how harmful social media can be. :( 7y
laurieluna @AmyG it is, and its made worse by the like of the kardashians. Russell howard did a slot on his show about it, showing a video of kim kardashian showing how to take the perfect selfie. One of the steps is 'take 300 photos'. Madness. 7y
Nikki15 Thank you for posting this. The more we talk about it and make communication about it seems normal and acceptable the better! 7y
laurieluna @Nikki15 thanks! I wasn't going to share this link as it is a bit of a comedy routine, however he makes some very serious and important points on how these sorts of news stories are published in papers. https://youtu.be/o4QHxIUiZlc 7y
