I really enjoyed *Colonial Spirits* . The illustrations, the history, the recipes, even the author‘s brand of humor. IMO, presenting history w/ humor doesn‘t always succeed but Grasse does. Some recipes I‘ll never try, such as dandelion wine or those w/ powdered wormwood, but many cocktails look great! And I‘m seriously tempted to try making cherry bounce and store it away in a closet for 6 months. Now where to put this, w/cookbooks or w/history?

ValerieAndBooks @CrowCAH I think you‘re right! Next to the other cocktail recipe books (I only have a few of those)! 4y
ValerieAndBooks @LeahBergen I love them too, so whimsical. 4y
ValerieAndBooks @Lynnsoprano they saved the best for the last chapter 😊 ! I‘m a bourbon fan myself, although I only discovered it in the past couple years! 4y
