It's Nina Landry's birthday, and she's supposed to have her kids ready to leave in a few hours for a Christmas holiday in Florida with her new boyfriend, but her fifteen-year-old daughter Charlie spent the night at a friend's and hasn't come home yet. Not by ten a.m., not by eleven. Nina is getting angry---they have a plane to catch, and Charlie hasn't even bothered to pack. As time passes, though slower and slower by the minute, Nina becomes uneasy. Her anger gives way to worry, and that worry quickly builds into panic. By one p.m., she's wondering, has Charlie run away, or has something far worse happened? And why won't anyone---not the cops, not Charlie's friends, not Charlie's father---take her disappearance seriously? As day turns to night on their home of Sandling Island sixty miles from London, and a series of ominous secrets leads Nina from sickening suspicion to deadly certainty, the question becomes less whether she and her daughter will leave the island in time and more whether they'll ever leave it again. In Losing You, the newest thriller from the long-acclaimed master of psychological suspense, Nicci French unravels one mother's life and replaces it with every mother's worst nightmare.

We found this absolutely riveting book on our apartment block swap shelf. It's a book my partner chose as it's not one that I would have picked myself. While some parts were a little far fetched the story itself was very tense and mostly believable. The anguish of the missing girls mother was conveyed in such away that the anxiety and anger felt by her was effectively passed on to the reader. For edge of the seat reading, it's excellent.👌

This book is about a daughter who goes missing while delivering her paper route on the day of her departure to Florida for a holiday. Her mother calls the police but to no avail and is forced to search for Charlie (Charlotte) herself. It takes place on one day and the book is about her mother searching for her daughter.

EadieB She calls her boyfriend and they search together. Then she finds out her husband lied and he becomes a suspect. I'm not going to tell you what happens next as you will have to read it to find out. If you love suspense with your thriller then you will love this book. (edited) 5mo

A highly engaging story about a woman Nina Landry whose daughter goes missing just as they are about to embark on a holiday. As Nina starts a relentless search for her daughter, she discovers that there is a lot she doesn't know about the latter and that the perpetrator might be someone she knows and trust. The suspense is engrossing and the story manages to keep the readers riveted and hooked.
