I Hear She's a Real Bitch
I Hear She's a Real Bitch | Jen Agg
7 posts | 5 read | 20 to read
A sharp and candid memoir from a star in the restaurant world, and an up-and-coming literary voice. Toronto restaurateur Jen Agg, the woman behind the popular The Black Hoof, Cocktail Bar, Rhum Corner, and Agrikol restaurants, is known for her frank, crystal-sharp and often hilarious observations and ideas on the restaurant industry and the world around her. I Hear She's a Real Bitch, her first book, is caustic yet intimate, and wryly observant; an unforgettable glimpse into the life of one of the most interesting, smart, trail-blazing voices of this moment.

Get an inside look into the crazy restaurateur life in Agg‘s biography, which is a low-key ode to Toronto‘s evolving food scene as well.

9/10 Excellent book, definitely a case of truth is stranger (and more interesting) than fiction. I enjoy how this is written, more like a conversation with a friend than a point A to point B type story. I've got a list of a couple restaurants I want to try next time I'm in Toronto!

There are so many books about women, feminism, sex, relationships, etc out there right now. This book was great to me because it took place in Toronto and was a real look into the restaurant industry (where my parents worked my whole life) - and right away I knew I would like it. Take what you want from it, but I liked how she was honest and quirky! 4/5.

Pricel101 Adding to my stack! Nothing like a restaurant tell-all!! 🔪🔥📖 5y

I've been really obsessed with books about the food industry these days. So when I saw Anthony Bourdain talking about this book I just had to have it plus the title is just amazing! Interested to read this book about a woman in such a male dominated field.
