She had a rough time seeing wes mom today and not having him. She‘s been wearing a necklace he gave her two years ago that says “although apart always in my heart”. I read this book some time ago on my kindle. It was really so well-written. It explored the complex relationships in a family where a mother is the family's rock and has a bad heart attack. The father, who lives in England, has to step up to deal with his gifted but special needs son who is struggling to be independent as the father struggles to examine his new role as he tries to keep his family together and regrets the time lost.

When you get up at 4:30 am to go to the Balloon Fiesta, you spend the rest of the day curled up on the couch with a good book. 📚 (A good book that, incidentally, is $2 for the Kindle version right now!)
