Lulu is a successful psychotherapist, recently married to Nick. But Nick has a troubled past and as Lulu offers to help him face his childhood trauma, she uncovers a disturbing and frightening side to the man she loves. Fast paced thriller with a somewhat predictable story line. I was disappointed that the ending did not have the 'shocking twist' promised on the cover. Nonetheless entertaining and perfect as a beachy/one sitting read. #doublespin
My #bookspin and #doublebookspin books are set for March. Can‘t wait to get started on both of these.
My husband and I had a little getaway in Paris over the weekend. I‘ve been wanting to visit the Shakespeare and Company bookstore forever and now I have! ๐ Bucket list โ
This story of two suburban stay at home mothers had me hooked from the first few lines! It was a relatively short and fast paced page turner with unreliable characters and numerous twists and turns that had me constantly second guessing myself. A thoroughly enjoyable read. โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for providing a digital copy in return for an honest, unbiased review.
My #bookspin and #doublespin titles for February are set. ๐Has anyone read these already? Thoughts?
My February #bookspin #doublespin selections are set. As with the past month, I‘m continuing to work my way through my massive NetGalley list.
Who would say no to creepy killer spiders, global Except for a variety of descriptions of how the creepy spiders are attacking and random relationship tidbits of the characters, nothing else happens. This book is part of a trilogy so the author naturally leaves something for the other books in the series, but for goodness sake you need to give the reader some story/character development. Disappointing. โญ๏ธโญ๏ธ #doublespin
This slow burn thriller mystery, set in a gothic Italian villa with a mysterious true crime past was just what I needed to get me out of the reading slump that has plagued me over the last year. I enjoyed the dual timeline storytelling and the narration was excellent. This is the perfect beachy, vacation read. #bookspin
One Italian Summer was a light, breezy read perfect for a lazy day and easily finished in one sitting. I enjoyed living vicariously through Katy while she was exploring beautiful Positano and now want to visit the Amalfi coast even more than before! #netgalley

Winter break has started a day early thanks to the snow and rain. I just need to finish up some stuff on the computer and then I plan to read for the rest of the day!๐ What are your plans? #readingmybookshelf

I‘ve been working on new book sleeves for the Etsy shop but had a question for those of you who purchase book sleeves - what size sleeve to you most commonly buy? I offer 3 sizes: small (7 x 9 in), medium (8 x 10 in) and large (9 x 11 in). Thank you in advance for all your responses!
Last year was an abysmal reading year so to make sure 2022 doesn‘t turn out the same I‘m trying to force myself to read (or in this case listen to) 1 book a week. This is book #2 of 2022. The story seems good just don‘t know if I‘ll survive the narrator‘s voice and reading style. ๐๐ง๐ค
Eeeek! Book sleeve listings are live in the Etsy shop! With more to come! I would be grateful if you would take a look at etsy.com/ca/shop/MapleLeafStitching and come follow me on Instagram at mapleleafstitching ๐๐
Not exactly a book post but I have a question for all you wonderful Littens. I will be reopening my Etsy shop in the new year, selling padded book sleeves, fabric bookmarks and eventually other bookish related items. When searching for book sleeves or bookmarks, what words would you use in your searches? What are some keywords or tags that you would associate with these items? All your help is greatly appreciated! Thank you! ๐
Look at all the wonderful #PoutinePenPals #stockingswap gifts from @mcctrish ๐๐ Thank you so much! I absolutely love everything ๐ I can‘t wait to start the book and I have hidden all the snacks from my husband and children to enjoy when the house is quiet and they‘re all back at work and school. Thank you again and Merry Christmas to you and your family!
Thank you to my #PoutinePenPals for the lovely Christmas cards (and birthday card) and goodies ๐ So grateful to have you in my life! Merry Christmas! ๐ @ShelleyBooksie @TheLudicReader @DinoMom @FantasyChick @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego
Merry Christmas to everyone in this wonderful Litsy community celebrating today! I wish you all a blessed and joyous day! ๐ ๐๐๐
This may seem like a strange question but did anyone of you wonderful people send me this through Amazon? There‘s no note and I‘ve asked all my family and friends and none of them sent it. Maybe one of my #LitsyLove or #PoutinePenPals ๐คทโโ๏ธ๐ค
The Christmas tree is up and my #PoutinePenPals #StockingSwap gifts safely underneath. ๐ฆ๐ ๐
Reached an amazing milestone today! 1000 FOLLOWERS! ๐๐๐ This Litsy community is awesome and I‘m so happy to be a part of it! ๐
I am a child of the 80‘s and Andrew McCarthy was always my favourite ๐ Starting this one today!
This little package of goodies is on it‘s way to my #PoutinePenPals #StockingSwap match! ๐ฆ๐ฎ๐๐
With only one child still living at home, this summer we sold our house of 23 years and bought a much smaller condo. What was once 4 bookshelves of my lovely books has been painstakingly whittled down to just one (albeit packed) bookshelf. Now that we‘re settled, I‘m hoping to get back to reading again and back to Litsy! ๐๐
An early birthday present from my awesome #PoutinePenPals friend @StillLookingForCarmenSanDiego ๐Thank you so much for thinking of me ๐ This beautiful #booksleeve will be going everywhere with me!
My #PoutinePenPals #StockingSwap package has arrived! ๐ Thank you so much @mcctrish ๐ Now to hide it somewhere until the tree is up this weekend.
So I wanted to give the #authoramonth another chance with this short story prequel. It definitely required a lot of out of the box thinking from me and while I found it wildly imaginative, I just couldn‘t get into the story. Part of it is this author‘s writing style but it‘s also that, as with my other read from N.K. Jemisin, I just can‘t wrap my brain around the story. I have another novella/short story so giving it one last chance. @Soubhiville
With strong Stepford Wives vibes, this book was somewhat entertaining but far from spectacular. Nothing I haven't come across before, in better written and better paced versions. โญ๏ธโญ๏ธ #netgalley #BFC21 This was my #bookspin #bookspinbingo book for January @TheAromaofBooks Also works for #LitsyAtoZ #abecedarianTBR #letterB @BookishMarginalia and for my informal #ReadingUSA2021 #Minnesota
