She wants to lead the people off the plantation and have a place where everyone is treated equally and respectfully. This is their journey to outside of Asheville, NC to a place that they call the Kingdom of Happy Land. This story is based off a true story.

February‘s book is “The American Queen “ by Vanessa Miller.

This poor girl had to endure so much at a young age. Heartbreaking but well written and intriguing story that will stick with me for awhile.❤️
I like all different kinds of mystery books, but especially procedurals with a hint of romance. #sundayfunday

pickThis cozy mystery was enjoyable and a light read. I enjoyed the characters, especially the Standard Poodle, Captain Haviland. This novel brought up mixed feelings about development on the coastline. The writers group individuals were each in the process of trying to write a book. Cozy mysteries are what I refer to as “fluff” meaning they for fun. I gave this a 4/5 stars
pickLawrence is having a tough time at his new school, getting into trouble for fighting although he‘s not the one instigating. When he gets expelled, he starts spending a lot of time at the community rec center meeting new people and learning chess.♟️
