5 posts | 5 read | 2 to read
In Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Die, Willie Nelson muses about his greatest influences and the things that are most important to him, and celebrates the family, friends, and colleagues who have blessed his remarkable journey. Willie riffs on everything, from music to poker, Texas to Nashville, and more. He shares the outlaw wisdom he has acquired over the course of eight decades, along with favorite jokes and insights from family, bandmates, and close friends. Rare family pictures, beautiful artwork created by his son, Micah Nelson, and lyrics to classic songs punctuate these charming and poignant memories. A road journal written in Willie Nelson's inimitable, homespun voice and a fitting tribute to Americas greatest traveling bard, Roll Me Up and Smoke Me When I Dieintroduced by another favorite son of Texas, Kinky Friedmanis a deeply personal look into the heart and soul of a unique man and one of the greatest artists of our time, a songwriter and performer whose legacy will endure for generations to come.

#ShutdownReadathon #JumpStart2021 #BookSpinBingo

This one falls into the completely random category. It did keep me mildly entertained & if I was more of a fan/follower I likely could/would have enjoyed it more.

Clwojick Way to go! You‘re crushing those reading goals! 3y
DieAReader @Clwojick Doing mostly audio, but that‘s ok...for now🤷🏻‍♀️ I still have to figure out where they fit on my #BookSpinBingo & #JumpStart2021 Bingo boards 😅🤣 3y

Bailedbailed

I love Willie Nelson and I am sure that this book isn't that bad. The problem is that it isn't read by Willie Nelson. I couldn't take it and had to bail.

Mehso-so

This was one of the most random collections of thoughts I‘ve ever read. Part poetic, part profane, kind of like Willie himself. It‘s short and relatively entertaining, but disjointed (ha! See what I did there?).
