pickOf course, there‘s no easy way to review this book about Levi‘s long winding road home from Auschwitz, a path that included a summer in the empty plains of what is now Belarus. What struck me is that this isn‘t a sad reflective book. It‘s stories, and they‘re, first, entertaining.

Levi‘s story of Russian liberation and the long crazy path home after Auschwitz. I thought somehow this would be reflective, which matches my mood now. But actually it‘s about story telling, and all the fantastic characters he‘s around in this kind of quagmire of liberation.
