pickI got curious about how many people of color one of my heroines might have met/seen so I got this book. Answer: quite a few, if she spent time in London. It's a fascinating collection! My (academic) field is 16th century drama & queer theory; I definitely need to read some 18th century race theory. This is a great start--amazingly straight/forward voices that don't seem particularly race-conscious (thus my need to catch up on race theory).

EloisaJames @minkyb oh believe me, it gets smaller. I specialize in plays written for boys (a thriving genre at the time, though Shakespeare never wrote one). The Shakespeare world is divided into small chunks! 7y
