A suspenseful survival story and modern day Lord of the Flies set in a mall that looks just like yours. A biological bomb has just been discovered in the air ducts of a busy suburban mall. At first nobody knows if it's even life threatening, but then the entire complex is quarantined, people start getting sick, supplies start running low, and there's no way out. Among the hundreds of trapped shoppers are four teens. These four different narrators, each with their own stories, must cope in unique, surprising manners, changing in ways they wouldn't have predicted, trying to find solace, safety, and escape at a time when the adults are behaving badly. This is a gripping look at people and how they canand mustchange under the most dire of circumstances. And not always for the better. "Think of the heart-racing chase of The Hunger Games, but a giant mall is your arena."Seventeen.com "[An] engrossing . . . thriller."Kirkus Reviews "This tense trilogy opener . . . build[s] a sense of claustrophobia and desperation."Publishers Weekly

A decent somewhat-dystopian book about a shopping mall lockdown. Not bad. I finished the whole series and enjoyed it overall.

This was a fine read, I got a little bored halfway through and just wanted to know what was happening and what the end result was. Good writing and characters! ⭐️⭐️

I was so worried when I got near the end that it was just going to have some due ex machina and I would be let down but as I write this on my phone I have my computer open and I'm buying the sequel from Amazon. I cannot recommend this book highly enough. The characters are alive, the point of views are great, it is very fast paced (I crushed this book in two days.) This is a great suspense book about human nature. Definitely a must-read.

I picked this up because a student read it and I was interested how an entire book could take place with people locked in a mall. I loved the idea of it and how the story is told by different points of view so you hear from more than one character.
