When I look at my finished JG stack I can‘t always distinguish the actual story since the theme of his books is similar. This one will stand out since the MC is a journalist, Syracuse educated and Memphis raised 20-something, who bought a newspaper in a small Mississippi town in the 1970s. And I just loved his friend Cally.

marleed @thevagabondlawyer Without specific intention I realize much of what I‘m drawn to read in fiction is written by women for women. I‘m really enjoying working through my JG stack so I get occasional stories not aimed at a specific gender. So cool that an author impacted your career choice!! 4y

Couldn't sleep, so I got up early to finish off this read. I was delighted for something new - following the life of a journalist instead of a lawyer. The storyline is also very captivating and does a good job of portraying small town life.

Fantastic! Superb!
Gotta find a new superlative
Nice setting. It's page turningly compulsive. The mystery keeps you on the edge. The book is real reflector of crimes which are so common in today's world.
Should go for it.

John Grisham never disappoints. He somehow makes the south likable, even to someone is who no big fan of slow southern drawls and fried pickles. His stories are intriguing and encapsulating. You really can't go wrong with one of his books.
