2. I can usually understand the bits of French that appear in English language books from time to time but, sadly, that's my limit. I keep saying I want yo improve my French but I never do anything about it. Just lazy, really.

This has been my handbag book for the last week or so. It is a clever blend of historical and modern mystery and kept me guessing all the way. I think I will look out for the next one in the series. I can check #Iceland off the list for #ReadingEurope2020.

I really liked this new series! The combination of a cold case, Icelandic history, and the present day was great. I liked Konrad and look forward to the next book.

A solid start to a series that I will certainly be following. Iceland, mystery and WW2 tick a lot of boxes for me.

Loved this quiet Icelandic mystery about a cold case - a murder that happened during WWII. Plenty of historical and cultural context, and a couple of truly decent detectives drive the story forward. Worth checking out if you‘re a fan of the genre.
