While I regret not owning Jonathan Rosenbaum's essential book Essential Cinema: On the Neccesity of Film Canons (at least I think I don't, that's how bad my library is organized), my assortment of list-centric books testify its message regardless. The aquiring and glorifying of books like this is a seminal part of any aspiring fanatic's upbringing.
