Adventure Guide to New Zealand
Adventure Guide to New Zealand | Bette Flagler
2 posts
We travel to grow our Adventure Guides show you how. Experience the places you visit more directly, freshly, intensely than you would otherwise sometimes best done on foot, in a canoe, or through cultural adventures like art courses, cooking classes, learning the language, meeting the people, joining in the festivals and celebrations. This can make your trip life-changing, unforgettable. All of the detailed information you need is here about the hotels, restaurants, shopping, sightseeing. But we also lead you to new discoveries, turning corners you haven't turned before, helping you to interact with the world in new ways. That's what makes our Adventure Guides unique. Written by a native New Zealander, this guide covers every region and town, with in-depth information on the Maori culture, the remarkable places to stay and eat, vineyard tours, cooking schools, thermal springs, albatross and whale encounters, scenic drives, and more. Canoe the Whanganui River, ride in a hot air balloon, hike the Waikaremoana Track, explore Whirikana Forest Park, take a glacier tour. There s even a section on how to talk Kiwi English! Photos, maps. Print edition is 622 pages. The book is great. I love the www references, the personal touches and for me the descriptions and comments make me feel like I am already there. -- Richard Hart. An activity guide packed with detail on everything from horseback riding and camping to fishing, cruising, hiking and more. Chapters are organized regionally and make it easy to look up local accommodations and eateries, inland and water adventures, and even small local maps for quick consultation. --Midwest Book Review. The perfect companion for planning. --Rutgers Magazine. These useful travel guides are highly recommended. --Library Journal

Just a pic of the wild coastline where I am staying on the Coromandel. Does it look like a coast near you?

Cathythoughts It doesn't look unlike some places near me. It's so beautiful 😍 7y
batsy Gosh, that's beautiful 7y
Centique @Cathythoughts I went to Ireland once after a long work trip through the US and Europe and it felt a bit like going home. 😍 I only saw Dublin but the green of the trees felt very similar to me! 7y

Centique @batsy thanks! We‘re spoilt for scenery. Less so for shopping malls and amusement parks! 😜 7y
Suet624 Ah, so beautiful. 7y
ValerieAndBooks Lovely! It reminds me a bit of parts of the Pacific Northwest coast! But I live on the east coast now. (United States) 7y

Lindy Beautiful photo! I'm in landlocked Alberta, over 1,000 km from the nearest ocean (the Pacific), about 1,500 from the Arctic and 4,000 km from the Atlantic. I'm going to Vancouver next week for the Writers Fest and look forward to the sea air. 7y
Tamra 😍 7y
Ms_T Beautiful ❤️ 7y
Centique @ValerieAndBooks how amazing! Two places I‘ve been to that felt a bit like NZ were Ireland and Oregon. I would love to properly travel the Pacific Northwest one day! 7y
Centique @Lindy the writers fest sounds wonderful. Hope you love the sea air! Amazing to me how huge Canada is 😍 I just checked and the furthest you can live from the sea in NZ is 225km. 7y
Andrew65 Bliss! 7y
Lindy @Centique I love the sea almost as much as my sweetheart does. We plan to spend as much time by the water as possible when we are in Auckland, which will be from the end of November until February. 😊 7y
Centique @Lindy that‘s amazing! Do you want to do a tiny Litsy meet up while you‘re here? No worries if you don‘t, but you can email me on Arblaster at xtra.co.nz if you want to 😊 7y
Lindy @Centique Yes, I'd love to meet for tea and book talk. I will be in touch, thank you. 😊 7y
MrsMalaprop We spent two weeks on a family holiday in NZ last July: 5 Days North & 9 Days South Island. Such a stunningly beautiful place. 7y
Centique @MrsMalaprop I‘m so glad you enjoyed it! 7y
