Pickpick

This book was about families getting ready for and participating in the march on Washington. It was very short and simple but got across a very important message. I feel it would be perfect for young children.

This HF is simple but powerful. First graders would be the perfect target group to teach about protesting and activism. It ends with a photo of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr taking his place at the podium. After reading this book, I would have the students write their own speech on something they would like to change. scholastic.com/teachers/books/we-march #UCFWalterslit

Erica.rivera @jhudson I really like the idea that you have in mind for the students. I wouldn't have thought about having them write their own speeches! That great to know. This book looks interesting and meaningful for the students. (edited) 7y
