Day 9, a day late: The Kanin Chronicles(completed)

Super fast reads, this YA trilogy is a light paranormal fantasy book set in the Canadian wilderness. Hidden from humans, the Kanin are trolls who are pretty much human with powers. Not gonna lie - it's young and stupid, like Bryn, but sometimes you need that!

so-so

I loved the previous series set in this world (Trylle trilogy) but these books gave it a whole new depth. The main character, Bryn, is a badass and the cold wintery scenes are magnificent.
However, the first book, and to some degree the second book, were slow to start. I felt like there were not enough plot twists, which made them seem quite... flat?
Although somewhat predictable, the final book, the action, and the characters make up for it.
