This TL book is too cute! It‘s a spin on the original “Little Red Riding Hood” and totally worth the read. I would use this book as a RA in the classroom. I would implement UDL principle 3.1(activate or supply background knowledge) & ESOL strategy 1 (use pre-reading activities to activate former knowledge) . http://meridithmeermanchildrenliterature.blogspot.com/2013/04/traditional-litera... #UCFLAE3414SP21 👩🏼‍🦰👵🏼🐺

KellyR This seems like such a fun book to read to the class especially because the cover alone seems diverse compared to the typical Little Ride Riding Hood girl. I think it is important to push society's idea of normalization and allow students to express themselves. 4y
DrSpalding Your summary needed a little more information! I am adding this book to my stack because I am intrigued. 4y

#ucflae3414f17 Little Red Riding Hood by Lisa Campbell is TL book about the notorious story about a little girl who goes to visit her grandmother, and a wolf who disguises himself as the old woman. This book would be a great RT, and is a useful resource to introduce the TL genre. The UDL strategy I would use with this book is 5.3 Build fluencies with graduated levels of support for practice and performance. The ESOL strategy I would use is #18;

Juliemorell Use commands and directions that involve overt student actions as in Total Physical Response (TPR) https://cwhitmansmcm.pbworks.com/f/Little+Red+Ridding+Hood+Literacy+Unit+Updated... This link will take you to a lesson plan that uses this book to compare this retelling of the story to the original. Students are asked to compare elements in the setting, characters etc. 7y
