This TL book is too cute! It‘s a spin on the original “Little Red Riding Hood” and totally worth the read. I would use this book as a RA in the classroom. This poetry story would make for a silly and engaging RA in the classroom. This story is about a man named Sam who has 10 sheep, and every night he tries to count them before he goes to bed to make sure he has them all. The problem is that counting them makes him very sleepy. This is bad news when theres a mysterious “sheep” asking to be let in & hes unable to figure out if its the “10th” sheep he left outside, or if its an unwelcome visitor😳

This HF book is AMAZING. What a fabulous book that can be used as a RA in the classroom. When I tell you I felt mind blown at the end, i mean it! This story is based on a true account (which makes it even more shocking). This story truly shows how small decisions can have huge consequences, and how chance & fate play roles in our lives.

This Biography would make for a great RA in the classroom. This inspirational story can teach students about women‘s rights. This book has so much history woven into the each page! Teachers can use this story as a read aloud when teaching various social studies lessons. You HAVE to read it! This NY Times Best selling book is FUN & GOOFY. This story teaches our students about emotions & that it‘s okay to feel different each day. It allows students to be aware of their emotions and it describes in detail what may cause sudden changes in our moods. I think this book could be a fun RA when introducing SEL into the classroom. (There‘s also an interactive spin face on the last page for students to use!) 💛🎭

This Caldecott award winning book shares a story about a family who experiences a blackout in New York City. When all electronics and lights are turned off due to this blackout, the family learns what it‘s like to enjoy each other‘s company & spend quality time together without any distractions. This Caldecott honor book would be great for PR. The short sentences makes it easy for partners to read every other line. This precious (RF) story is about an older cat who gets a new kitty sibling who he teaches everything too, until one day the older cat passes on & leaves the younger cat with his wisdom to share with future siblings down the road. (Not going to lie, this book made me tear up... lol)

This simple & sweet book is MF. It tells a story about the importance of friendship & how it can make us feel complete! Within this story, a talking stick & stone go from being alone, to best buds. This would be a great book for ST. This will enhance your students understanding & is a great teaching strategy to use for EL‘s. All you need is a rock, a stick(glue a leaf on top) and a pinecone, & you‘ll be ready to bring the story to life!

Her little brother “Mouse” is very curious & follows her to find out what Valentines Day surprise she is crafting together. This Judy Newman award winning book would be an amazing add to any elementary classroom library. I believe this book would make a great RA. Tom Percival did a fabulous job explaining anxiety/worry to young readers, which will help them understand social emotional learning. Having books like this are so important in your classroom because we want our students to feel comfortable & be able to find text they can relate too.

Wish Tree is a great novel for a literature circle. This short novel teaches us the importance of diversity, inclusion, kindness & love. We learn all about “Red”, an old wish-tree with decades of wisdom. This story is beautiful but warning- your eyes may water (Haha) ! This RF novel would best be taught using UDL principles 2.1 (clarify vocabulary and symbols) & 3.2 (highlight patterns, critical features, big ideas & relationships)

This New York Times Best Seller is a MUST for every classroom library. This heartfelt story between a father & his daughter promotes self love & it would best be used for an author study. Matthew A Cherry is an interesting author who has worn many hats in his life. This picture book would best be read using the ST method. “Do not lick this book” can tie into a science lesson about germs while also promoting reading skills & comprehension of events through ST. Within this book we go on an adventure with a microbe named “Min”. We travel with her to numerous destinations. While traveling we get to view these destinations really close up & meet some of her microbe friends along the way!

This would be a fantastic RA for the first day (or week) of school to ensure everyone in your class feels welcomed. This RF picture book allows children to find themselves & their families within the pages.The mirror aspect is what makes this book so powerful & inviting. Our students differences should be loved and celebrated within the classroom.🙌🏼
