David is a high school senior at Hillside High School. He‘s the running back turned explosive quarterback on the football team, and his life couldn‘t be better. Unfortunately, this wonderful life could come to an end due to a secret that he harbors in the depths of his soul. He is gay, and he knows that if this secret is revealed, his whole world would change forever. The full review will be on my blog. Forever Reading‘s Rating = 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

“I have had you in class for four years. You have never backed down from a challenge yet. I‘m not saying it won‘t be hard, but you can do it.” I love Mrs. Harrison!!!! She is totally supportive of David and Jay, and does not allow any type of bullying in her classroom.

Powerful statement: “I don‘t have a problem being gay. It‘s everybody else.”

Just because Jon/Jay is gay, this doesn‘t give Tyler the right to mistreat him.

I have had enough of Tyler. He is rude, inconsiderate, and jealous. Just because he has suffered a season-ending injury, this does not mean that he has the right to say this about David, his “best friend:” “He‘s a fairy with the hots for the new kid.”

How many people have ever felt like this?

I think it‘s better to just not text people at all. The only things that‘s worse than not getting a text from someone first is sending them a text and then having them not respond. It‘s excruciating.

Tyler groaned. “Jesus. Leave you alone for a weekend and you start hanging out with fags.”

I can‘t stand intolerance and ignorance.

Now here this: One more outburst or use of language like that in my classroom and the world of pain I will rain down on you will be the stuff of legend.

Can we say that Mrs. Harrison, the English teacher, is Old School!!!

It was so heartbreaking and it makes me so upset that some people can't be who they are, that they have to hide the fact that they're gay because they wouldn't be accepted or because they'd be bullied. This book was a really good read and I would absolutely recommend it.

Love anonymous. These diary like books are eye opening and super sad but they make you think about things.
