pickSekou, from St Martin/Maarten wrote this collection in response to the American led invasion of the island of Grenada in the 1980s. He called it an "emergency volume". The power of these pieces are undeniable, I've found myself returning again & again to "For Justice" (the final stanza is pictured above). The edition I got included an essay from Caribbean scholar Fabian Adenkule Badejo which added depth to my understanding of the collection
