Split the Party
Split the Party | Drew Hayes
7 posts | 8 read | 3 to read
Fleeing from a vengeful king has sent the former NPCs across Solium's borders, into the kingdom of Alcatham. As wanted fugitives, they head to the small farming village of Briarwillow, hoping to blend in, lay-low, and avoid trouble at all costs. Unfortunately, Briarwillow has problems all its own, and its troubles quickly become theirs. If they hope to survive long enough to escape, they'll have to tackle an all-but-forgotten mystery buried at the town's border, as well as seek the wisdom of a mysterious group of mages. With time, magic, and at least one god against them, it will take everything they've got to save Briarwillow, and themselves.

Second book in the series. I don't know what to really say about this book besides that I've enjoyed it. It did take me most of the year to read through it. I only wish I finished this sooner.

Finally picked this up again. Started this in the beginning of the year just to finish it at the end of the year. I‘m excited for Grumph to have a proper mage‘s training.

🎧 Book 2 in the Spells, Swords & Stealth series. This book continues the adventures in NPC with the plot twist of what happens when you split the party.

Do you enjoy RPG/DND or know someone who does so you‘ve heard the terminology? Do you secretly want to learn more? Do you love a story with silly, campy moments, plenty of funny RPG references & a good story that‘s fast-paced? This might be the quest for you! Great narration! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️1/3

Loved the audio book of this second in the series. A gnome, a barbarian, and a half orc walk into town with a human...

Paladins save us, I'm loving this series! And I'm pretty sure it's not just cause I really miss playing d&d. The mystery of the connection between worlds definitely thickens, and the book ends with needing more asap. There was a lot of leveling up through training and acquiring information before the action got ramped up again which felt a lot like certain gaming sessions 😂 so fun! #mommyreads #audiobook #givemeaquest

the.bookish.valkyrie I love Drew Hayes! I'm going to have to check this one out! 7y

Still absurdly charming. Although I did not give permission to Hayes for making me become so emotional towards the end of the story. I'm really looking forward to the next one.

There was an interesting little discussion about the insular nature of small communities that are only brought together by coincidence of location. And I'm thoroughly appreciating how Hayes has each character dealing with their own insecurities and traumas. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌗

alanacristin I'm listening to this right now! Learning about Grumble 😉 7y
