Work to impress, dance to express. It's a long way to go to create a new life for yourself. Classical ballerina, Flora Gatehouse, has no choice but to take a risk. Having failed an important ballet audition in London, she moves to a small cottage in a forest just outside Lisbon, Portugal, her only inheritance following her father's death. Soon, Flora is involved in village life, where fate takes a new twist when she becomes attracted to forest ranger, Marco. But they are off to a shaky start. Can Flora find acceptance in a foreign land, in a magical place that harbours secrets and heartache?

I recently read Forest Dancer by Susan Roebuck. She was a new author to me and I really enjoyed this book. It is set in Portugal. A ballet dancer fails an audition and moves to A cottage just outside Lisbon that she has inherited from her father. The story tells of her life and live in the foreign village. If you haven't read Forest Dancer, yet, I highly recommend it.

I recently read Forest Dancer by Susan Roebuck. She is a new author to me, and I really enjoyed this enchanting book, set in one of my favourite countries, Portugal. Flora Gatehouse moves there after failing a ballet audition and her life in the village outside Lisbon as well as her romance progresses. This is a lovely book. I enjoyed the authors voice.

I loved this book. The characters were beautifully written and you almost felt like you'd stepped out of a taxi into a village square next to an enchanted forest in Portugal. It has romance, intrigue and friendship. Give it a try!

London classical ballerina, Flora Gatehouse, has just recently lost her father, but she has also suffered a devastating blow in her career: her failed audition that sees her moving to a small cottage in a village in the forests near Lisbon. Follow her story as she embraces the life of the village with its dark secrets and forest ranger, Marco - at one with his beloved trees? Will she ever reconnect with her dream to become a principal ballerina?
