I know the last thing anyone wants right now is yet another streaming service to pay for, but Doom Patrol alone might justify the $8/month it costs to get DC Universe. And if it doesn't, the fact that DC is adding its entire comic book library later this month definitely does.

In preparation for the upcoming Doom Patrol TV series, I decided to go back and read some of Grant Morrison's classic run on the series. Morrison took, what was up until then, just another DC superhero team, and transformed the title into a surreal masterpiece. 4 💥💥💥💥 out of 5

Tonight's reading. I have yet to read Grant Morrison's run on Doom Patrol. As a fan, I should be ashamed of myself. I must remedy this immediately.

My #TBT pick is Grant Morrison's mind-bending run on Doom Patrol. Morrison took DC's strangest heroes and turned them into a surrealist, anti-establishment force. What other comic book has a sentient street, a painting that "eats" cities, and a schizophrenic with multiple powers to go along with her multiple personalities? Many have tried to resurrect Doom Patrol over the years, but no one has matched Morrison's incredible run on the title.

I'm reading this at the moment. Had forgotten how brilliant this series was. A painting that devours people ultimately defeats a powerful villain by breaking said villain down to a minimalist version of itself as it passes through the "dada" phase. It's great, read it!
