I‘m always a little nervous recommending books to my daughters, hoping they‘ll love them as much as I did. Happy to report, my daughter nailed this review! I apologize for the f-bomb….

Omg *shudders* this is grim, creepy, tense, disturbing, sickening....all that good stuff! This is a brief but oh so affecting read, the horror of it crawling slowly but surely across your skin. The skill of the author is in the way that the monsters, of which there are undoubtedly several, are presented as loving, loved, decent human beings who had bad things happen to them. The weirdness, the downright wickedness, is presented as being ... ⬇️⬇️⬇️

readingjedi ...so reasonable, so justifiable. And that makes it even more shocking. Liv is such an intriguing character - is she just an innocent bystander/victim? The twist right at the end is an absolute doozy. 6y

After starting this book I wasn‘t too sure I wanted to finish. It wasn‘t really what I thought it would be (not that that‘s necessarily a bad thing), and it took me a little time to get into it. I‘m glad I stuck with it though because all of a sudden and without realizing it I was hooked and couldn‘t stop reading.

So I was in full on panic mode for about three days straight as I couldn‘t find my e-reader (which houses almost my entire collection of books). Just as I was about to break down and look into getting a new one, it finally showed up. Needless to say, I haven‘t made any progress in my current read in what felt like forever ... but at least I have my own version of a happy ending I suppose
