Yay picking out books is always one of my favorite parts! Here are my contenders I‘ll add links in the comments below. Please let me know if you‘ve read any already/any vetoes, or if any stand out to you more than others! 😊 @WanderingBookaneer @mklong @LazyDays #lmpbc

Mary‘s Monster is tagged - this is a graphic novel + poetry collection telling the biography of Mary Shelley using a compilation of her own written works

TheBookKeepers I read an intro by this author in Claudia Rankines book Citizen and loved it. She‘s been on my TBR for a while 2mo

Wow. I devoured this book in 24 hours. The angst and tension built for me at the 25% mark and stayed on HIGH all the way through the end. It was absolutely beautiful. With complex characters and the high stakes of first love. It left me feeling all the feelings and quickly earned a place on my favorites shelf. Preorder this one friends! I absolutely loved this graphic novel trilogy! All are available on kindle unlimited & I recommend reading them back to back. They are hard to put down!

Expect found family, LGBTQ & disability rep, magic, and heart felt messages good for all ages. Book 1 & 2 read as independent stories with Book 3 tying them together. Bonus excerpts for tea dragon lore at the end of each book are a must read!

A trip to China, a glimpse into a remote culture, and an immersive tea education. I‘m planning to buy a tea sampling kit through a site the author recommends in the back!

Lakshmi: By thinking of the beauty of what will be”

This book has taught me so much about history, a religion outside my own, and still has deep overlaps to my own experiences of childhood to womanhood. I‘m curious if any of you have a fiction story you love that taught you something outside your own culture?

This is a novel in verse set in India during the Parition.

TheBookKeepers @WanderingBookaneer I wasn‘t in love with it. The author‘s intelligence was very evident and I felt like many of the poems were above my head (intellectually) as a novice poetry reader. I think it would have been more impactful if I had read some of the references she said inspired her poems and/or more familiar with the women featured. The middle section was my favorite 7mo

Don‘t judge this book but it‘s ugly cover 😂 I absolutely loved this! The pacing was wonderful and kept me enthralled the entire time. Lara has trained her entire life to be a deadly spy so that she can marry & then take down the king of an enemy country. Island themed so you can expect: snakes, sharks, jungle, hot springs, an impenetrable bridge.
