The second book in The Voidwitch Saga.
🌌A prison break story.
🌌Beautifully brutal & mind-blowingly violent.
🌌Has some epic & jaw-dropping battle scenes.
🌌Non-stop action from page 1 to end.
🌌Marvellously written w/excellent world-building & progression.
🌌Flawed characters who are emotionally impulsive.
🌌Last 1/4 is intensely evocative.
🌌Needs a bit more character development.
🌌1 small part was too “convenient”
🌌Must-read for space opera fans.
🌌Better than book 1.
🌌4.75/5
The protagonist is such a mouthy fucking brat and I fucking love her to bits!! This series is turning into one of my fave sci-fi serials around!
If you‘re into action-packed, supremely violent, & wonderfully crafted science-fiction, specifically space operas, I recommend y‘all check this series out. It‘s called The Voidwitch Saga and the first book is Killing Gravity. There‘s a review for it on my profile somewhere. This is book 2. ✌🏽✌🏽

Went by Fiction Addiction on my break to see if the latest Murderbot book was in. Was gonna get this one instead, until the sales woman offered to put in an order for me. Still might check this one out later; I'm really interested in the Tor novella series.
Man, it took me far too long to remember all the plot from Killing Gravity.
This one's a bit horrific, really. It's mostly set in a prison world, so... yeah. The ending is wrenching, and Mookie's situation well done.
This was a brutal, hard to read book, but I loved it. It was darker than the first book, but I think it needed to be to tell Mars‘s story. I‘m really looking forward to the next one.
