The Boys in the Trees
The Boys in the Trees | Mary Swan
1 post | 3 read | 1 to read
William Heath, his wife, and two daughters appear to be the picture of a devoted family. But when William commits an unthinkable crime, those around him must reconcile his actions with his perceived character. A supreme literary achievement, this work offers a chilling story that swells with acutely observed emotion and humanity.

Help!!
I‘m trying to pick a book for my #workbookclub and have landed on this stack that‘s been sitting around my house unread for ages.

Any recommendations??

bookandcat I absolutely loved both A Tree Grows in Brooklyn and Sex and Rage. (The latter doesn't have much sex or rage in it, just fyi. Lol). Brooklyn might have a *bit* more meat for a book club discussion. 6y
Bookish.SAM Thanks @bookandcat !! That‘s sort of what I was thinking about Brooklyn. I haven‘t read it but I do have a habit of trying to bring slightly ‘more challenging‘ books to book club and it rarely works out for me 😕 6y
BarbaraJean Mr. Penumbra has some good themes for discussion, and is just a lot of fun overall! It has a bookish scavenger hunt kind of plot, and the cover glows in the dark, so that‘s also a plus. 😁 The Eyre Affair is also SO much fun—but maybe doesn‘t have as much discussion potential (beyond “isn‘t it clever?”).
