So this series is a bit ridiculous (I accidentally read the second one first), but I read both of them in one sitting, so I guess I really like them 😂

Really enjoying this series, just wrapped the 4th book and the two novellas that follow. Kate is quite the badass and I‘m a fan of the witty banter. It‘s kind of like Mercy Thompson meets Buffy. Check it out!

Enjoying this series. This book was a bit slow at times. I feel like the main character switches back and forth from being comfortable with all the super natural and VERY uncomfortable. I suppose it‘s a bit natural, as it‘s pretty crazy mind blowing stuff, but it just throws me for some reason. Overall I really like it though.

This was…weird. Interesting story, but dragged on in certain places and not enough detail in others. I think it tried to do too much.

This was a fun read. It was a bit dry, but I enjoyed the story. May or may not continue with the series. I was in a major reading slump, but breaking out of it in this vacation! 4 books done this week. Will post more reviews later.

Aims42 I thought the second book in this series was better than the first one, it sealed the deal for me to continue with this gang lol I‘m glad you‘re getting out of your reading slump!! That‘s a great feeling!! 😎🤩🥳 2y
Crewgurl @aims42 thank you! I will check it out then 😊 it is!!! Reading slumps are so discouraging. I was 200+ pages into 6 books and could not get it together lol. Not that I finished any of those, but gotta start somewhere! 2y
Aims42 @Crewgurl when you just keep starting books and they don‘t stick, ughhh that‘s the worst feeling!! 😖 Yep, gotta keep at it and something will eventually flip the switch again 🙌 2y

I‘m baffled by how high this rates on Goodreads. The present day story was abysmal and the historic one could have been interesting, but was poorly told. Some brief shining moments, but definitely a pass for me.

I enjoyed this, albeit not the best written book I‘ve read. The ending was a whirlwind, but I enjoyed the story and the journey.

This was enjoyable, albeit a bit weird. I wasn‘t sure where it was going most of the book and didn‘t expect the twist at the end. It‘s short, but packs a punch!

A cute little novella while I wait for my free copy of book #2 that I won from Goodreads!!! First time I‘ve ever won one in the 9 plus years I‘ve been on there 😂. Anyway, this was cute and whimsical. I enjoyed the characters, but I wish it was longer!!

This kind of felt like a filler book. Going to keep going with the series because I do love Veronica and Stoker, but this one fell a bit flat for me.

CleverGirl I enjoyed this book a lot, but the first 2/3s of the book is my least favorite in the series, and the last 1/3 might be my actual favorite so - a mixed review? Also, I started it directly after the previous book which is probably my actual favorite so it might just suffer by comparison. 3y
Crewgurl @CleverGirl totally agree! I felt like it had a lot of filler!!! But still enjoyed it. 3y

I do love a tale of misfits! I picked this up because it was reminiscent of Firefly, which will always hold a special place in my heart, and it didn‘t disappoint! Definitely a pick.

BekaReid Solid. Becky Chambers is a favorite. She writes so well, and book 4 comes out in a couple months! 🙂 4y
Crewgurl @BekaReid how did you like the rest of the series??? I was torn on continuing. 4y
BekaReid @Crewgurl I loved all of the series. Each book has a bit of a different flavor-i.e., book 2 focused on just 2 people vs a whole crew- but her writing is so good and her characters phenomenal. Worth continuing in my opinion. 4y

It‘s been forever since I‘ve posted. I think the pandemic has really hit my reading hard. I read 32 books last year, which is incredibly low for me and this is only my second of the year. Trying to refocus!!!now on to the review...lol. I was torn between a pick a pick and a so-so on this one. It was a fun story line, the writing was decent, but it felt incomplete. That being said, I finished it in two sittings, so I rounded up to a pick.

This is a cheesy mystery series and it certainly delivers on that. The author kind of jumped into the ending after a lot of build up and it felt very rushed. The “romance” is getting a bit dragged out too, but we shall see what the next one brings.

I love this series, but this book seemed like a filler book, setting up for the next. This could have been condensed to a novella. Hopefully for the next one!

Did this as a buddy read. It was an interesting story, but so all over the place. I had no idea what was going on the whole time and I‘m still a little unsure of why any of it happened. Multiple authors really threw this one off. I think it could have used another 100+ pages of details! I would skip this one.
