A simple photo for this one because the book wasn't great. I wasn't sure what to expect. I'm not a fan of sci-fi but wanted to read something different. I wavered between 2 and 3 stars. After a slow start, this was fast paced, full of action and strong characters. The writing was mediocre, and the story was confusing and far-fetched. It had trouble keeping my interest. Not sure if I liked it enough to read #2.

This was a good start to a series, but not great. Maybe I just wasn‘t in the mood for YA? I‘ll definitely give the next book a try. This was choice for a book by an AOC about space for the #ReadHarder challenge.

I'm happier news, I am giving #Uppercase another try and got this amazing looking SF book, along with a bookstore-themed infinity scarf and feather and star pin, both of which I'm wearing. Lovely. #authorofcolor

I loved this! It‘s (admittedly) pretty predictable and has all your favorite YA tropes but it was so entertaining that I didn‘t care. Ia is such a badass and I love seeing people who look like me on covers 😭

This has a lot of potential but the three POV characters felt really flat to me. Plot progression felt a bit unnatural. But really great ideas!
