Pickpick

I love this book so much I read it twice. We follows the character Melody in her mind as someone with CP. This RF is very eye opening for students with CP. I would incorporate this story as a RA, option for LC. As a New York Times Bestseller & one of my favorites. I would use such UDL strategies to emphasize inclusion, 7.2 to optimize relevancy to CP & ESE for all students. #UCFLAE3414SP20

HappyMaddy The ESOL strategy would be 44 for students to practice predictions, sequence, & summarizing while RA. The resource does a great job with activities to for before, during, & after reading. The activities help students grasp the severity of the characters conditions & importance of inclusion for all. https://www.scholastic.com/teachers/blog-posts/kriscia-cabral/teaching-out-my-mi... 4y
DrSpalding Scholastic is a high-quality resource! This book is worth a repeated reading. I agree with reading it aloud and utilizing this book to practice predictions sequence and summarizing etc. It could also make an excellent literature circle option as you saw in class. 4y

RIP Kris Nelson (4/26/18) - The cover is a painting she did of her daughter Tracy‘s wedding on Catalina Island. Some people were fans of her husband, Ricky Nelson or her in-laws Ozzie & Harriet, or her brother, actor Mark Harmon. I was a fan of Tracy (Square Pegs & Father Dowling) & twin sons with long blonde hair in a band called Nelson. Always wanted to read this beautiful book about her life & illustrated with her artwork. Glad Amazon had one.
